Nathaniel Goldberg - Hermes - On the Silk Road

I think Nathaniel Goldberg (w/ Art and Commerce ) has been doing strong, beautiful work lately.
I used to keep an eye out for his spreads in V Magazine, always in studio, on white, and really well executed,
but his recent spreads have shown his true reach and versatility.

He has done some beautiful shot with Gucci, Bally, Flake, Number 10 Magazine, etc. In last season, he has done a photoshot for Hermes called "On the Silk Road", about the silk scarf collection for the company.

He has fully expressed his vision along with the versatility of the product. I can’t think of many photographer’s out there who are at the same time so specific and diverse… Most of all though, his work is right up my alley, a nice balance of playful, pretty, edgy, and still technically competent.

Yuan Quan - Amber

Directed by the renowned avant-garde artist Meng Jinghui,
the musical "Amber" has been a major blockbuster in China's drama circle
so far this year with Liu Ye, a laureate of the Golden Horse Award, as the leading actor, and Yuan Quan, the Golden Rooster Award winner, as the leading actress.

The play has been performed in Hong Kong and Shanghai
and will come to Beijing from March 25 to April 3.
After that, it will go on to tour in the Southeast Asian city-state of
Singapore from May 26 to May 29.

So hope you guys enjoy the show and I will try to put together a review and some pictures after seeing them in Beijing on the 25th!!

Yuan Quan has been an artists in China for a while.
She is absolutely gorgeous, she sings and acts well.
She will definitely be one of the iconic figure in the future.

Acne Jeans SS08 with Daniel Jackson

Acne Jeans was established a few years back. They started up as a jean company.
They expanded their lines into clothing and accessories
and has been receiving enormous success.

Daniel Jackson on the other hand is a Fashion photographer, he shot for I.D. magazine. H&M "Fashion against Aids" is probably one of his most recognized projects.

In SS08, Acne Jeans hired Daniel Jackson to create their SS08 lookbook.
That not only proved that Acne now has bigger budget to spend on.
And I am very exciting for Acne
because Daniel Jackson has did a tremendous job in expressing this collection through his lens.

Villain hitting(打小人) - Chinese Tradition

Villain hitting(打小人)：Make use of a varieties of symbolic object such as the shoe of clients or the villain hitter or other religious symbolic weapon like incense sticks to hit or hurt the villain paper. Villain paper can also replaced by other derivative such as man paper, woman paper, five ghost paper etc. Villain hitting is a folk sorcery popular in the Guangdong area of China including Hong Kong. Its purpose is to curse one's enemies using magic. Villain hitting is often considered a humble career, and the ceremony is often performed by older ladies.

Villain
The concept of "villain" is divided into two types: specific villain and general villain.

Specific Villain
Specific villains are individuals cursed by the villain hitter due to the hatred of their enemies who employ the hitter. A villain could be a famous person hated by the public such as a politician or could be personally known to their enemy, such as when the request is to curse a love rival.

General Villain
Villain hitters may help their clients curse a general villain: a group of people potentially harmful to the clients. Dualism is mainstream in the traditional Chinese world view, and many different kinds of folk sorcery beliefs derive from this view. The concept of Villain and Gui Rencomes as a result of this yin and yang world view.

Date
The period for villain hitting is different among temples, but Jingzhe is the most popular date. According to some folklore, Jingzhe is the date when the whole of creation is awakened by thunder. As a result, different kinds of foul spirits including byakko and villains become active. Consequently, villain hitting on this day serves to prevent those harmful to others.
